Simple Project Each Day in September - Day 3

The moment I saw the tiny images of the sheet designs for Project Life I knew I wanted to make this
Saved a logo off one of the packages and fussy cut it then edged it with silver metallic Sharpie marker
Now I just need to add the Design letter to keep these identified
Once I start using the various designs I can also see adding a rating to denote which I like best
Keeping the cover decoration to a minimum still allows the cover to like semi-flat for use
Lots of designs to add - these are from sample packs

Wild Orchid Crafts Haul/DT Package

I did some re-stocking and picked up a few new items in the shop, some recently added flowers are sold out so don't wait when you see them!

The Daffodils are ridiculously adorable!

You cannot go wrong with blooms in assorted colors, shapes and sizes - ensures you have just that perfect one for a project in progress

Can anyone guess my favorite color?

A broader view of the package content

The handmade bead flowers are very elegant, would make a lovely addition to a wedding layout or a first communion project

The two-tone leaves are sweet and can be added to several flowers as a base layer or on their own. You can even peel off the metal stem and use them as flat petals to create a flower, something I am going to play with myself.

Wild Orchid Crafts - Wedding Table Decor

A flameless candle from #DollarTree has been embellished into Wedding Decor that can be customized based on your colors or kept elegantly monochromatic in white and silver

I like the simple tone on tone because the flameless candle is fiber optic, cycling through several colors, so nothing competes but rather complements the embellishments

I used a combination of large orchid flowers, spring stamen, stamen clusters

Rhinestone flourish sticker

Fabric and sequin butterflies

The design came together and can be altered using colored flowers to compliment the wedding colors. The flame portion has a yellow flickering 'flame' which illuminates just enough to cluster as table accents or along the path to the ceremony for an evening wedding.

Daiso Tape Dispenser Blinged Out!

I received this white tape dispenser from an extremely generous Vicki Yoshikawa
One day I was in a meeting where I could not mute my line so typing was out of the question but I could do something that did not produce any noise - two and a half hours later this lovely blinged out desktop tool was done.  What you will need:
  • Blank tool to bling up - this tape dispenser is from #Daiso - 12 locations in North America
  • Adhesive - I used Glossy Accents from Ranger for the stones that were not self-adhesive
  • Bling - I used several types - Wild Orchid Crafts Purple & Lilac 100 packs in 3 different sizes (3mm, 4mm & 5mm) on SALE right now!  Loose acrylic bling from a 1 lb. bag purchased at AC Moore, years ago and some strip lilac adhesive tape from Recollections (Michael's brand)
  • Tweezers and or Pick-Up Stick (Silhouette brand)
  • Time and Patience - it's actually very therapeutic

Bobby Pin & Ribbon Flags

My Violet Domino Filofax (Pocket & Personal)
Dollar Tree had a package of some bright bobby pins, one section of the pack matches the Violet color to a tee.  Today I received my Wild Orchid Crafts package and the Light Plum Satin ribbon (1/4 inch) was just the thing needed to make the bobby pin into a cute little flag (shown above).  Another bonus is that the bobby pins don't pinch like paper clips.

Wild Orchid Crafts Bio

My name is Natasha Z. Hensel and I am the YouTube Design Team lead for Wild Orchid Crafts. Many of you may already know me as Enastasia but with recent changes to YT I am sporting my full name these days. Having been a part of this team from it's inception over two years ago, I've had the opportunity and privileged to play and create with many of the embellishments from the shop.

My style is streamlined (think IKEA but in paper and flowers) and I tend to challenge myself by using color palates that are not close and dear to my heart but rather outside the comfort box. Not to say you'll never see my faves being used, just trying my best to see art from a different perspective to facilitate growth.

My background is in fine arts and I 'earn' my living working for a Fortune 100 company - a hybrid job of technical skills, training and problem solving. That's one of the reasons you see and hear me describe projects in painfully minute details, that's either a good or an annoying thing (hopefully not the later).

I started to share my art after loosing a very dear friend. This gave me a therapeutic outlet and I quickly fell in love. With all the lovely products available to us as a part of the Design Team, the ideas are plentiful.

I thank you for coming along with me on this journey and watching out videos, commenting on Facebook posts and pinning your creations on Pinterest. Without you, we would be considered flower hoarders. :)

Quick and Easy Easter Cards

Recipe:
  • Each card is standard A2 size (4.25 x 5.5 inches) in Ivory Staples card stock
  • Each rounded with 1/4 inch We-R-Memory Keepers corner Chomper - easily punches through both layers of card base.
  • First layer is sea foam green card stock, not sure where I got it but it's 110 lb weight cut to 4 x 5.25 inches and rounded at each corner with 1/4 inch rounder as base
  • Each of the green card stock layers run through a cuttlebug embossing folder - Swiss Dots, Argyle and Script
  • Sizzix Egg die cuts used for Ivory and Lavender layers in graduated sizes.  Lavender is large enough to fit the Lilac stickers, Ivory is one size larger
  • Stickers are Brenda Walten's Grand Adhesions for K&Co called Juliana Floral Images Code 554047
  • Lavender paper is from Nicole - AC Moore
  • Wild Orchid Crafts Lilac Small Sequined Butterflies - EM-00068
  • Donna Salazar Fairy Dust Glitter in Sugar Shimmer from Clearsnap
  • I even used up the leftover paper and the last two stickers to make a couple of 3 x 3 enclosure cards, picture at the bottom
Card #1
Card #2
Card #3
BONUS - scraps used for two 3 x 3 enclosure cards with the last two stickers
