Our beloved kitty of 12 years, Oreo, passed on today after having a stroke last night. He was a Valentine’s Day gift my husband gave me all those years ago, even before we expanded our family to include our three dogs. He fetched tin foil balls and obeyed commands to go to bed as well as asked to go out to 'potty' like one of the dogs. When he was young he got bit on the tongue by a carpenter ant that would not let go, it was quite a site to see this HUGE cat, he was nearly 22 lbs. at the time, to be crying to get the ant off. We loved you and will miss you SO MUCH that there will be no other cat like you!
Natasha, I'm so sorry to hear about Oreo. We lost our dog of 12 yrs. last Sept. so I understand. They are just like our kids. Shari (cricutrookie)
ReplyDeleteThank you Shari, it has certainly been an emotional day. I am sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. Incredible how pets become family and warm all those spots in our hearts that we didn't know needed filling.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss. The loss of a pet (to me) is the same as a loss of a family member. I am a cat and dog person, and we lost our dog and then 1 of our cats within a few months of each other. We still have 1 cat who is 19 years old. She's the QUEEN! Our pets, (I refer to them as my children),they bring so much joy to us, and that is what we have to remember.
ReplyDeleteDr. Seuss said, "Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened." I love this quote.
