Home Made Holiday Gifts - Sour Cherry Bounce

Cherry Bounce Recipe:
  • For this batch we used 5 lb of pitted sour cherries
  • 2 cups of granulated sugar to 2 cups water to make a simple syrup
  • 1 gallon of good quality Russian Vodka
  • Juice from 1/2 a lemon
Wash/Disinfect bottles & caps. Make simple syrup - equal parts sugar to water based on how many lb of cherries you have.  Set aside to cool.  Once the simple syrup is cooled add it to Vodka.  Place sour cherries into each bottle leaving at least an inch free at the top.  Pour Vodka/Simple Syrup over cherries in each bottle.  Store in a dark cool and dry place for about 6 months.  Since the sour cherries are only available in June, this provides the perfect timing for gift giving in December.  Serve over vanilla ice cream as an adult treat or as an aperitif after dinner.
