I found a BONUS egg today in our coop. We have six chickens, I check several times a day. First check was at 8:30 am, fresh water, food and treat from our veggies from last night. There were two warm eggs at 8:30, then at 1:45 three more eggs so when I checked at 5 pm I was only expecting one (green one at that) but got two - a green and a brown one! Don't tell the union, I think the 'girls' are working overtime! I thanked them for the bonus with a thunk of Banana bread. Hopefully this means that they are happy chickens.
