Lakeview Restaurant & Banquette in Coventry CT

The day could not be any lovelier, breezy, 74° F with a cloudless sky
Zuppa di Mussels with Garlic toasts - the marinara is perfectly spiced with chunky onion threads and every single mussel was open and sweet tasting
Our other favorite and the only place we know locally to get this little delicacy - Smelt basket with steak fries.  The little fish are served whole (headless and cleaned) and every bone is so fine that you don't even notice them.  Almost watermelon flavored, the smaller ones even have that aroma, perfectly cooked and served with tartar and/or cocktail sauce and wedges of lemons
The owner, Luke, stopped by to see how our meal was after we already cashed out and shortly after that the server told us the tiramisu was on the house.  What a lovely surprise! Paulie started celebrating his birthday one day early!

  1. Vegetarian, but the tiramisu looks scrumptious! ;)

    1. Rita,
The tiramisu was tasty! I could probably give up most meat but fish is my love although I was a vegetarian for 10 years before 'meating' my husband who is a carnivore to the core. I got him to join me on Meatless Mondays at the very least.
