Friday Funbits - Googly Eye Push Pins

Work in progress

Supplies
  • Push Pins (300) from Dollar Tree
  • Assorted Googly Eyes (125) from Dollar Tree
  • Hot Glue Gun from Dollar Tree
  • Glue Sticks from Dollar Tree
I saw some adorable googly eye push pins at Dollar Tree but each time I stop by, they are MIA so this is for all the friends, subscribers and followers who can now make their own. BTW - the original package of googly eye pins was only 25 in the box, with these supplies you can make A LOT of push pins.
Premade push pins, 25 in the box. They used trickery because 2/3 of the box is filler cardboard
Assorted googly eyes separated by size
Practically lifetime supply of Thumb Tacks, available in silver tone (which I got) and in brass. The base of these are great for all sorts of embellished pins, bling, flowers, buttons, epoxy covered photos, the possibilities are endless. I'd love to hear what you would add to yours.

Last but not least are spray oils:

Friday Funbits - Wish Me Luck Fortune Cookie Micro Mini

      Micro Mini Recipe
  • The base pages and covers were cut using LifeStyle Crafts Cookie Cutter Nesting Sketchbooks die (smallest of three).  Covers cut from Kraft paper from Hobby Lobby, interior pages from water color paper from Lots & More.  As an aside, Lifestyle Crafts was purchased by We R Memory Keepers and their selection of dies available online is a fraction of what they used to offer.  If you'd like to see what they have available, stop by http://www.shopwer.com/
  • The back cover is three layers of Kraft while the front cover is four layers with the top one run through a Cuttlebug embossing folder from the Asian Set called Plum Blossom
  • Zutter Innovation Bind-it-All 2
  • Dymo Labler to create the 'Wish' 'Me' 'Luck' in black tape
  • Wild Orchid Crafts White Open Roses in 15 mm & 10 mm
  • Wild Orchid Crafts Leaves, retired
  • My Favorite Things Mini Doily Circles die, cut with Duct Work Tape from the hardware store (it's adhesive on one side which is a great bonus)

Friday Funbits - Black Friday

As soon as the first mention of 'Black Friday' being an economic term, I remembered hearing that before but for some reason it probably stuck with me that it's a terrible time to be employed in retail.

Friday Funbits - Crafting Acronyms

Today's Friday Funbits is all about Acronyms - you use them but what about keeping a running list to help out the 'Newbies'?  Well, here it is:
  • ACT - Artist Trading Card - always 2.5x3.5 inches in size - always traded, never sold.  Can be mixed media, collage, paper, 3D, you name it.  Size is the only standard guideline.
  • RAK - Random Act of Kindness - I call them Nifty Giftie... whatever you call it, it's an 'unexpected' swap/gift received without the expectation of something in return.
  • HAUL - a shopping result share - a good deal, a new shop/online store or just to show what goodies you'll be creating with
I will add more as I think of them or as they are posted on the YouTube comments to my video.
