Cute Paper Clips for Filofax/Planner/Organizer

I was in a meeting this morning that required my attention but not direct participation so while my phone was on mute I multi-tasked making these adorable paper clips using the following supplies:
  • Large Paper Clips - available at Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Staples, OfficeMax - with back to schools sales you can find them just about anywhere and in patterns and different collors
  • Stamps of Life sets: tv2stamp and coordinating TV Diescoffee4two and coordinating Coffee Cup Dies
  • Twine wrapped around the small spool die, can't recall who it's from but it is a 2-piece set with a larger one
  • Dimensional adhesive tape
  • White & Black card stock for die cutting, white for stamping on and black for backing
  • Your choice of inks, pens, or glitter - I used Ayto Spika in Lavendar for the coffee cup with my initial on it
You can see the dies on the left and the tiny coffee stamp on the right

Baby Reveal/Announcement Cards - CottageCutz & Stamps of Life

Could not wait to use this die - it fits an ATC (2.5x3.5) or an adorable little card announcing a new Baby!
Closeup of the Filigree detail
Cut using Staples 110 lb. card stock in white
One on the left is already folded and glued, in the center prior to being folder, underneath is the actual die with the cut negatives still in the die.
Stephanie Bernard's Stamps of Life in minionesie2cut
The card is 7 x 2.5 inches folded in half to make a 3.5 x 2.5 card
Radiant Orchid layer 1/8 inch smaller and onesie cut with die, background made with the tiny rattle stamp from the set.  If you want to make a card that opens like a book, cut the paper to 5 x 3.5 inches and fold in half to make a 2.5 x 3.5 card.  It's always nice to have an option to custom tailor to the design on the front and in the most appropriate orientation.
The front of the card is stamped with Bundle of Joy and the rattle
What a sweet way to announce the gender or arrival of a new baby

World Card Making Day

Taking a break from my Halloween Card Series to make a couple of cards for World Card Making Day on USTREAM.  Thank you for everyone who kept me company and provided feedback while I played around with new stamps and a new card size.
  • The entire reason for this unusual 3.5x6.25 inch card is because I went to use an A2 Staples Invitation Envelope and every single one in the box was glued shut.
  • I did pick up a box of Mead #6 3/4 Security envelopes at the local Dollar Store for shipping twine orders.
  • Necessity being the 'Mother' of invention - I grabbed one and measures the size card that would fit and cut that from a 12x12 white Bazzil card stock.
  • My now infamous black report cover layer, cut at 3.25x6 inches and the Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland pattern paper cut to 3x5.75 inches.
  • Stephanie Bernard's Stamps of Life October Monthly stamp release was used for the sentiment and postage images.  These were semi-fussy cut by using my hole punch technique, at least till Stephanie releases the dies that accompany this set on the 20th of this month.
  • Coordinating nicely with the stamp set, are the Postage Stamp Frames from Sizzix that were used as background textures.
  • Wild Orchid Crafts' Moss Green Mulberry Paper flowers were sprinkled on the card in random spots to fill out the negative space and compliment the purples.
Because I wanted this card to be received by the Birthday Girl and not be mistaken for a bill, I used the TPC Studios stamp set from my Jo-Ann Haul to decorate the front and back.
  • I had one more card folded to fit the Security envelopes but took a 'vintage' turn on this Bon Voyage card. Using the Quickutz England set from Scrapbuck.com and a 2x2 QuicKutz Luggage die to decorate it.
  • The brown base paper layer was stamped using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink from Tim Holtz/Ranger and the stamps from TPC Studio - World Traveler.
  • Tiny brown blink on Big Ben round out the front.

Halloween Card Series - Scarry Tree Cards #1 - #5

I start this series with 5 cards all using the Scary Tree die from Sizzix.  My favorite black report cover stock from Fellows adds a level of texture.  Some cards are cute while others are just whimsical.

Scarry Tree Card #1

Recipe:
  • Ivory card stock from Staples cut in half and folded in half to a standard A2 size card
  • Black report cover stock from Fellows layer, cut to 4x5.25 inches
  • Ivory card stock layer cut to 3.75x5 inches
  • Graphic 45's Happy Hauntings 8x8 paper pack - Midnight Magic
  • EK Success edge punch - Pointed Flower
  • Scary Tree Sizzix die cut using Fellows Black report cover stock and mounted on dimensional foam adhesive, I use Forever in Time from Scrapbuck.com
  • Stephanie Bernard's Stamps of Life - owls2love & moreowls2love stamp sets for the 3D Owls in three sizes sitting on the tree branches
  • After the owls were stamped and cut out, three times each, and layered on 1/8 inch dimensional dots I added Glossy Accents to make them pop.  Set the card on a level surface and allow to air dry.

Card #2 & #3

Recipe:
  • Ivory cover stock from Staples, cut & folded to a standard A2 size card
  • Black Fellows binder cover layer cut to 4x5.25 inches
  • Graphic45's Happy Haunting paper collection - Man in the Moon page from 8x8 stack cut to 3.75x5 inches
  • Scary Tree Sizzix die cut with Black Fellows binder cover stock and cut in half vertically, half for Card #2 & half for Card #3.  Each attached with dimensional adhesive squares
  • Spellbinders Shapabilities Nested Bats - 3 of the smallest bats cut with my favorite black cover stock, embossed and attached on dimensional adhesive squares which were colored with a black Sharpie to blend into the background paper
  • Lastly, the bats received a layer of Black Diamond Stickles
  • The only difference between the two cards is the 1/2 tree placement

Card #4

Recipe:
  • Ivory cover stock from Staples, cut & folded to a standard A2 size card
  • Black Fellows binder cover layer cut to 4x5.25 inches
  • Graphic45's Happy Haunting paper collection - back side of Man in the Moon page from 8x8 stack cut to 3 strips measuring 1.5x3.75 inches
  • One moon was cut from the front of the paper and layered on 1/8 inch dimensional foam tape on the top 1.5 inch strip of pattern paper, making it peak our from behind the tree
  • More bats covered in Black Diamond Stickles
Card #5

Recipe:
  • Kraft card stock from Hobby Lobby, A2 size
  • Black Fellows binder cover stock layer cut to 4x5.25 inches
  • Scary Tree cut with both medium weight chipboard and black binder cover stock, glued together
  • Silver thread wound around the tree to mimic spider webbing
