  • Two more patterns chosen from the paper collection in coordinating color but different patterns cut and layered on white card stock

  • McGill Scalloped Tag punch for the bottom layer below the MOM image
  • MOM image created using Studio G tiny letters that look like typewriter keys and punched with McGill 1/4 inch punch and adhered with 1/4 dimensional dots
Mom opening her card, it was kismet that I used lilacs - she didn't know it but dressed perfectly in coordinating colors!

Chest of Drawers - LifeStyle Crafts

I made this set of drawers using the LifeStyle Crafts Drawer Box die, craft paper, red line tape and a small scrap of back report cover stock.  That's it!  The black labels can be written on with chalk pens so once the content is gone it can be reorganized for other craft supplies.  I am currently storing my wood vener shapes in each drawer.  The spool of thread in the center is from my grandmother's sewing basket - all the way from Odessa Ukraine.  I should really scan that label before it falls off and disappears.  This unit consists of 9 individual drawer boxes and is remarkably sturdy.  The possibilities are endless - cover with pattern or designer paper and you have an adorable keepsake!  I'm keeping mine utilitarian and my fave kraft and black combination.

Measurements: Each box is approximately 1 3/4 inches cubed (wide, high, deep).  I say approximately because paper does have a bit of give.  This overall unit is 5 inches high x 5 1/8 inches wide (see the drawers push out a bit at the sides).  I am building another unit for my Wild Orchid Crafts small embellishments so I can keep track of them individually with their code numbers for when I create project videos.

Birthday Card for Barbie

The doll many of us played with as kids celebrated her Birthday on March 9th.  Launched in 1959, she is an icon, agree or disagree with what she stands for. I could not miss the opportunity to use my new LifeStyle Crafts die for the ponytail girl profile on this card.
I used LifeStyle Crafts Heritage Set die for the silhouette, tree and banner for the sentiment

Recipe:
  • A2 size card - 4.25 x 5.50 inches using American Crafts white card stock in 110 lb
  • First layer is Fellows Report cover stock cut 4 x 5.25 inches
  • Second layer is Die Cuts With a View (DCWV) Essentials 6 x 6 stacks bright pink circle pattern
  • Silver doily is Wilton Cake pack, from what I recall, this little pack has been in my stash for many years
  • Heritage Set die from LifeStyle Crafts used for the Tree, Banner and Ponytail Girl Silhouette
  • Banner sentiment if from Stephanie Bernard's Stamps of Life - Branches4Build set
  • Tiny star embellishments are from a RAK, I am sorry, I can't remember who sent me these adorable stars
  • The inside of the card, which I neglected to show in the video, has a bubble gum pink layer cut to 4 x 5.25 inches and another Ponytail Girl Silhouette in the lower right hand corner
  • The back of the card is stamped with my Created By UPC symbol stamp which I got from an eBay seller

Fashionably Late Birthday Card

Recipe:
  • This is a A7 card which once folded measures 5 x 7 inches (10 x 7 paper folded in half).  I had to use this size because of the primary image being too large for an A2 (5.5 x 4.25 inches)
  • Card base is Fellows Black report cover stock
  • Ivory layer is Staples card stock cut to 4.75 x 6.75 inches and run through a LifeStyle Crafts Floral embossing folder in the Damask pattern
  • LifeStyle Crafts Nesting Doily dies cut from black report cover stock, ivory card stock and Die Cuts With a View 6 x 6 pattern paper from the Essentials collection, purchased at AC Moore
  • Branch punch from Martha Steward from scraps of DCWV pattern paper
  • Prima Mixed Media Doll stamp #910198 by Julie Nutting, sorry there is no name on the stamp, on Staples Ivory card stock stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Stamped again on pattern paper for the skirt part.  'Fussy' cut both the doll and the skirt.
  • Puffy Velvet pen used on the bodice of the dress, frilly hem line and shoes - color, let dry and then heat set which activates the puffy effect
  • Tiny letters are from a Cuttlebug alpha set hubby found, brand new in package at a consignment shop for $2.  Cut from scraps of black report cover stock
  • I created a micro-mini 'fauxladoids' for each letter in the word LATE
  • Most of the elements are on 1/8 inch dimensional foam adhesive to give them depth
  • Fashionably - printed off my computer on Staples Ivory cover stock in 110 lb weight.
Closeup of the bodice where you can see the velvet texture from the Puffy Pen
Closeup of the micro-mini 'fauxlaroids', stay tuned to the video for details on how I made these
